Just want to make sure I got the gist of the blog. Shot attempts against, are directly the fault of the 2 defensemen on the ice? The 3 forwards on the ice at that time have no responsibility for those shot attempts against?

To be fair, it's hard to get that information. That's why I included the WOWY information for the last series and how all the same Sharks players suddenly became ineffective when Russell was off the ice. I didnt feel the need to repeat that same info for the regular season since it also now common knowledge that teams perform better against Edmonton when Russell is on the ice.

As we've seen so far in so many low scoring games, defense is important in this league. Keep hating on all the guys that help keep the puck out of our net Hendo.

I have some advanced stats too. The Oilers won more games this year, with Russell in the lineup, have won a playoff series, and 2 shutouts in that series with said player in the lineup. And that is real life, not a video game with orcs n stuff.

Weird that actual games are played and we don't just look at a stats sheet to see who won???

Don't forget the fact that he only blocks shots because he is a bad defensemen. Doesn't matter what the forwards are doing, or if the tender gives up a bad rebound, ITS ALL RUSSELL'S FAULT!!!!

If he was actually doing what you say he's doing I would be praising him.

It's almost as if Sekera has been told not to shoot during the playoffs. Every opportunity he has he either waits it out or passes it off. I'm not complaining as it lead to the Desharnais Game 5 Winner instead of a shin pad breakaway for the Sharks.

Just Sekeras and Russel? I think Pouliot is the one that needs to be short benched on the team. Eberle and Lucic haven't been amazing but for Lucic he has never really been great. Eberle on the other hand has been WAY better than he is now. Nuge seems to get better each game but Eberle seems like he is at a father son game.

But yeah. I think Klef and Nurse are the only defence really doing good.
